About Keowee Gem Works

Keowee Gem Works is the passion of Ann Savoca. It is an outlet for the creative design of artistic wire weave and lapidary jewelry.  Keowee Gem Works is located on lovely Lake Keowee in the foothills of the Blue Ridge mountains in Upstate South Carolina. Keowee was originally Cherokee country and the name means 'Land of the Mulberry'. Rockhounders in the area are likely to find amethyst (the official South Carolina state gemstone), smoky quartz, tourmaline, aquamarine, and garnet. Ann's creations use these as well as gems, shells, and other natural material from around the world. Her wire weaving is inspired by many other artists, but much or her artwork is original.
